Select Work/School or Personal Account - Anomalous behavior through entire Office Suite
This is relevant if you created a Microsoft account outside of your business role, or if the business recently moved to Microsoft 365. This issue can manifest itself in poor policy adoption in apps such as Office 365 not grabbing relevant plugins, or Teams not showing things you should have access to as a company, or are invited to that you aren't seeing. It may also manifest itself as warning that your Onedrive account is expired, when you should have storage provided by work. To correct this issue, you need to separate the personal and business accounts. Start a new incognito/inprivate window and go to the URL: https://account.microsoft.com/. Sign in and when it asks which account to use, it should ask about work or personal on the same email address. Select the personal account.
From there, click the "Your info" link, and then find the account info section, click on the "edit account info" link. This will usually cause you to need to sign in again, or pass a multifactor check. Then from here,
You'll get a page similar to the following:
You'll want to add a new email address (usually easiest to just create a new outlook email), and then you will be able to make that new address primary.
Once the new address is primary, remove the email that's the same as your work email from the listing. This will break the connection that can often times interfere with proper Office 365/teams behavior.
